TWO GIRLS AND ONE GOAL

We are two sisters who want to share our vision of the Middle East with the world. We also wanted to share the stories that molded our minds throughout our upbringing so people get a chance to see that Iraq is more than a place riddled with war, destruction, poverty, and terrorists.

Now, Before There Were Borders is more than a book - it is a movement. Josephine Attisha founded a nonprofit organization, Community Helping All-Inclusively or CHAI ACS, that partners with other private, non-profit, and non-governmental organizations whose missions serve or improve the lives of minority populations all over the world. If you would like to learn more about the organization, please go to the CHAI ACS website by clicking here.

On this website, you will find an introduction to the company, authors, blog posts, and more information about “Before There Were Borders.” Please sign up for our mailing list to stay up-to-date on the blog posts, project updates, and news about the book.

To us, Iraq is more than a region of the world in constant war and we don’t intend on keeping it that way. We hope to unify people and organizations around the world towards a common mission: PEACE. So, we created this special version of the map of Iraq to share how we see this country. This will also help you understand the locations discussed throughout the book.
